CEO, BP Integrated Supply and Trading
Paul graduated in Classics from Durham University, and spent 33 years in BP in London, Germany, Holland, USA, Colombia and Spain. In 1990, he attended the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School. He spent 20 years in supply and trading roles, trading Rotterdam barges, crude oil and establishing commodity derivatives trading.
Following roles in natural gas departments including establishing as Commercial Director the UK Gas Interconnector (linking the grids of England and Europe), he worked in head office running BP´s Mergers and Acquisitions until the completion of the BP Amoco merger, after which he became general manager for global strategy in refining and marketing.
In 2001 he became the Head of oil supply and trading in Europe and Africa followed by other leadership roles in oil and gas supply and trading. In 2010 he became Chief Executive of Supply and Trading.
Previous board positions included Interconnector UK, China Aviation Oil (Singapore), TransOccidente S.A, and the Futures and Options Association.
Paul was ranked #6 in the Financial Times 2015 Leading 100 LGBT Executives OUTstanding list.
